Loud heater fan! Need help.
I've got an 88 toyota pickup, but I figure the problem can occur in any of the years. The heater barely blows when the fan setting isn't on "high" and recently when I turn on the fan it makes a loud sound like something isn't working correctly. The sound goes away and the heater blows normally after 45 mph. Any ideas? I really need the heater to work without so much noise.

UPDATE!
I got my heater working correctly now. It was full of leaves and grime. Also there was a piece of plastic about 1 inch in size that was probably what was causing the noise. Not sure where the plastic piece came from though as my squirrel cage was perfectly intact.

If you had a lot of leaves in the blower assembly, most likely you AC Evaporator is full of debris as well. I would also suggest pulling the windshield cowl and cleaning the debris out of there as well.
