Looking for opinions before purchase
I'm looking to replace my 98 4Runner.....(will be sad to see it go) But I find myself needing a truck more often.
I'm looking at 2 Toyota trucks,
1st one
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...000&cardist=28
2nd one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...8786432&rd=1,1
I live near the Tundra and will be seeing it later today. The Tacoma I would have to fly in and see and I'm not real crazy about Ebay cars anyway.....seen way to much crap that dealers are trying to pawn off on some good pics, however it seems like a fair price for a sport package 4x4.
The only reason I'm questioning either one is V8 mileage and dated design or V6 mileage and newer design. (besides black is such a pain in the *** to taake care of.......)
Thanks for the time guys,
Rob

Well besides the mileage what else you looking for?
If it is room, then the tundra is the way to go, if not Tacome is pretty roomy for it's size?
I persoanlly like the Tacome because it's small and powerful...
And with that 6 speed manual tranny, I could imagin myself having alot of fun..
If you plan on doing alot of towing then the tundra is the way to go...
But also..
I am personally not a leather fan...
Yes I would let this little fact slew my purchase cause I just don't like leather...
I slipp off of it too easily...
Just my .02
I would go with the Tacoma myself...

I agree about the leather, not a big fan but it does have the heated seats and the sunroof. (a factor in resale value)
The only drawback to the Taco is the fact it's in Virginia, and site unseen.
One of the reasons I am looking for a truck is to haul my motorcycles.

Ah, okay,
Yeah I am looking for a Tacoma Extra Cab When I Eventually Get My Motorcycle.
If the auction had been closer to chirstmas I would have driven down and test driven it and looked into it for you...
(every christams we go down to Roanoke, VA, even though I have no clue where Woodbridge is I would have dirven there...)
The Tundra would be better for multiple motorcyles Where I think the Tacoma might just get one in the bed...
I am suprised no one else ahs chimed in...

Thanks for the thought, that would have been a great help if it worked out.
The Tacoma 4x4 sports go for a lot more here in Calif. So it is interesting if it was available closer
But my wife and I ride motorcycles and my little boy will also.
Kinda leaning towards the Tundra especially for the limited package just for future resale value also.

That is one problem....Hot.....during the summer. But is it REALLY any hotter in a black car than in a white car that's been sitting for the same time?????
Not sure on that one.

I see the Taco is gone......Drove the Tundra last night. It is a nice truck, but no locker. Do you really need a locker with 4WD? I'm not buying it to thrash anyway.
The Tundra doesn't have the TRD package but I plan on a lift with Donahoe front coilovers and Bilstein rear anyway.

2007 Sport 4Runner
I had a 90 4x4 Pick up 4cyc/stock, just upgraded to a 2007 4Runner and love it! I got the Sport 4WD/V6/Custom Leather (After market leather shop). I bought it at Lustine Toyota in Woodbridge, VA. I am going to put a 2.5 space lift on it hopefully before 5k miles. Its not much of a lift, but it will put it as high as I want it.
