John R leaf springs

Just discovered I have a broken leaf. Money is super tight, but I really want to replace both sides. Not looking to lift, just replace. Best thing I could find was John R leaf springs @ $103.25 each. Seems like a good price. Does anyone have comments or experience as to the quality of these springs?

Thanks,
Jeff

If noone has heard of these, does anyone have any other economical suggestions? Like I said budget is tight, but I cant bring myself to only replace one side, especially considering its already apart.

I put these in my truck in June:
http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/index....oducts_id=7512

They're just stock replacements as I had a broken leaf on one side so I replaced both. No complaints, nothing special, just replacement springs for my worn out stockers. I did haul a lot of wood with them up a really steep mountain grade a few times and I drove back to Mass from Colorado with my truck loaded with stuff and they held up well.

These look good, and I almost went with them, but I was able to get a pair of John R springs for $206.50 off ebay, so I took a gamble on them. I'll let you guys know how they work out.

Check out OMEs. I think they are about the same price.

So I recieved the John R Springs. They look pretty good. They are painted black, poorly, but painted none the less. They came with the bushings. Only time will tell how they perform, but at $103.25 shipped each, they were a bargain. I havent decided wether I want to use the bushings included or replace them with engergy supension poly units.

They are installed but there currently just supporting a frame, as I'm doing a restoration on my truck. Wont know for a while how they drive but they look pretty good. I used the bushings that came with them.

Definitely with some applications as they are often torque to yield bolts. I'm not 100% sure on this application. Toyota doesnt consider them a non-reusable part.

http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/1993/susp...37leafspri.pdf

See page two. Non-reusable parts are marked with a diamond. U bolt is not marked.

That said I may replace them when I get some bump stops for the springs.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Lewis- any update on these? Looking to put in some stock replacements for both my broken packs.

Edit: probably not. Last activity = 3/29/12.

Hope everything is alright!

Lewis hasn't been around for a while, unfortunately.

I looked around junkyards, and most of them I've seen are pretty beat. I haven't been to any lately, but they're old at this point. I'd rather slap some new factory style replacements on.
