I averaged 26 MPG!
Since my 91 Tercel is down for an inframe engine overhaul I have been driving my 03 Tacoma the 64 mile round trip to work. I have been doing every thing possible to help cut the gas costs. I took my tool box off the back and aired the tires up to 35psi. It is mostly an interstate drive and I accelerate slow and drive it like a grandmain the lh lane at 55mph. So when I did the math yesterday I had avraged 26.19 mpg.... this is considerably better than th 18mpg I use to get. It sucks driving that slow but its $ in my pocket!

Yah i know what you mean. My daily drives is a 90 4x4. I hate going 55 but it does help gas milage like crazy. there's also a lot of hills around here so i spend as much time coasting as possible that also helps a lot.

Yeah...I have a 2006 V8 4Runner and I have pumped the tires up to 42 psi and keep the engine RPMs under 2K. Around town I am getting 20-22 and highway (65mph) 24-26 mpg.
It's killing me to drive so slowly but this is way better than the 17-19 I used to get.

"Crazy what a lil driving adjustment can do"
Yep. I still miss the 35 MPG my 91 Tercel got with 200K on it though. I hope to have the engine in it done next week. I did replace the plugs in my truck for the first time ever the other day. It has 42K on it and I thought for some reason the plug were to be replaced at 45K.... I was wrong, they were supposed to be replaced at 30K...oops, shame on me. The OEM NGK's were very worn. I hope the new ones will help bring the numbers up a little.
Does any body have any other little tircks to help out the MPGs?
A guy down the road put sedan tires on his 88 Toyota truck. I have not heard from him, but I wonder if it helped.
