just out of curiosity has anyone ever seen this before? is it a toy model or a real thing?

They make those track kits. I've seen a few trucks on the net with those, mainly up in Alaska and Canada up towards the north pole where it never thaws. I saw an F250 with one of those kits on a site for some wildlife observatory up there and they said it worked pretty well.

I've seen a couple of trucks and quads decked out with them. I believe that they are call Maxx Traxx, If I remember correctly.

Yep.

Supposedly, an engineer's kid ("Matt") was drawing trucks and came up with the idea, and the dad thought it was cool and made it work. They bolt onto your hub just like a tire.

I have a set for sale in the classifieds section. They made the truck a little sluggish around town and made it difficult to parallel park, but otherwise they work great.

Brand new they cost about $8k-15k for a set of 4, they work well in the snow, mud, and sand, because of exxcellent flotation!! They make the engine work really hard though, because of the weight, I think they wieght around 600lbs each!! If I learned how to grow a money tree, I would buy them!!


Edit: they actually wight 1200-2000lbs each

You cant drive over 40mph with them
