'high' mileage recommendations
Just passed 255,000 miles on my 1993 Truck. Oil consumption seems like the only real issue so far; goes through about a quart every 1500 miles or so... Perhaps that's not so bad for such mileage, I don't really know.
Just wanted to post this up to ask those of you community members who happen to have "higher" mileage 22Rs and such - anything specific you'd recommend preventative maintenance-wise? I used the quotes since 250-300,000 is really not that much for these wonderful beasts. So long as they've been well cared for, at least...
Thanks in advance for any and all tips/advice.
Just want to keep her going as long as possible...

Certain things are obvious, as a matter of course. Like the timing chain guides. Gotta do those sometime in the reasonably near future. Little odds and ends like that... just wondering if anything else would be worthy of attention at this stage. It's certainly not a super-complicated rocket science style problem. Most of the stuff it needs I can figure out. As I stated before, just wondering about other stuff I might be too ignorant to think of..

wow 172 lookers and no one had even one suggestion...
I think some folks try a thicker or a thinner oil just to see how that does with the consumption. But don't go trying either way until you hear more expert opinions.
Keep those fuel injectors clean with good gas, like Shell is the one I stick with now. Some BG 44K product I believe is helpful maybe twice a year. And when I had my 22Re I would run BG's MOA every other oil change or so just cause my mechanics told me to.
Feel free to post up in your respective sub forum to get some responses...
