So I went up to the top of a parking garage yesterday with some tools a duct tape to find a nice open area and blank wall I could aim my Hellas at to finally align them. I parked my truck over a line in the parking lot (parked it so it looked center from and back) and used that line as the midpoint between my lights. i measured the gap between my lights on the bumper and used that same gap (center at the midpoint) for markings on the wall (i was 20-30 ft back btw) and did the same for the height from the ground. i aimed the lights at these marks and tightened them down. when i tested them is where i ran into a problem. my hellas *appear* (by eye, so it could be inaccurate) to be aiming straight. my brights seems to be aimed at the same spot, however, my headlights are to the right of both of these. however, by eye, my headlights also appear to be aimed straight. so either my brights and hellas are aimed off-center, or my headlights are. which is more likely? do yall have any tricks for making sure theyre lined up straight forward? it was a lot of eyeballing which isnt accurate

 

Arent your brights and headlights in the same reflector? So you cant adjust them seperatly. The portion of the reflector for hi and low beams is a little different thou. Are your reflectos original or aftermarket? Headlights typicallly shine to the right so they dont affect other drivers, highbeams then go left and right because there shouldnt be any on-coming traffic.

 

they are in the same reflector, i dont know if theyre the same bulbs though, i dont remember, but its all stock as far as i know. so its normal for the headlights to be off to the right some? that would make sense since my hellas match up with my high beams as far as where they shine.

 

Yeah it sounds normal... the high and low beam are the same bulb as well

 

Most headlights are aimed so the low beams hit somewhat off to the right of center, and the high beams hit higher and more centered. This is so you don't have the low beams shining in the eyes of oncomming drivers.

 

The headlights look different from hi to lo. Just adjust the hellas to where you think they should be. Next time you're out night wheelin keep a 1/2" socket with you. I always readjust mine depending on how I need to use them, usually out to the sides and up so I can see more around me.
