Grill guard modified to winch mount...
Just a question... What about using a grill/brush guard to mount a winch on between the front uprights. I had one on my old Blazer that was pretty stout. What if you welded all the connections where it is bolted together? And instead of a slotted mount on the frame, weld a plate and then drill one hole so nothing would move under a pull or load... Any thoughts? To mount the winch, fab a mount of channel iron & drill for fairlead & winch mount holes...

all of the yota brush guards i have seen are flimsy crap. you could use it as a platform and replate all of the support points so that it would hold the weight of a pull. the front cross member on the yotas that connects the frame ends under the radiator (with the holes in it) is crap. it is like 16 GA steel and bad welds hold it together. i would build this up and start form there.

Like all else it depends what you have to work with . Also your skill level .
Do you put any value on your time. Or is this a labor of love.
Another thing will this mount up this high restrict the flow of air into the radiator.
If it was me I would build from scratch or buy a ready made bumper set up for a winch .
good luck
