Great day got 2 yotas

So today I purchased 2 85 Toyotas. One a 2wd pickup 22r and the other a 4runner 22re. Got them both for $1000.00 The 4runner has been sitting in a guys yard for 7 years. some body damage little rust and a clean interior. The pickup had a bad engine need ssome minor body work and a lot of interior help. Pictures will be up soon. 2 big projects.

Question: The 4runner does not have a key and I was wondering what the best
way to obtain a key for it is.

Try going to the dealership and having one made from the VIN.

I'm not sure on the older vehicles, but whenever I need a new key, I get it from the dealership. Just take your registration to Michael Toyota and they should be able to cut you one. Good luck. I'm in Oakhurst and have a good 22RE for sale if you need one.

Dealership is no help, like jay351 said pull the passenger side door then find a good locksmith. That was what I had to do with mine, when I bought it I had a key out of a Mazda that the PO jammed into the ignition but I could never turn the key past the lock or I would have been screwed, I called the dealer and they told me just to go to a locksmith. We pulled the lock, he ground me a new key and I was back in business

Sounds like a good deal heck $1000 for an 85 4Runner is a steal no matter the condition!!!!
