Gear shift alllitle loose in drive....HELP!!!!

First post here guys, been readin your post and realized this is the best website out there for toyotas!! I have a 1999 4runner and LOVE it. I am currently going to try the Seafoam cleaneing and need some help in the MPG department!. 106,000 and when I put it in drive, the shifter is a little loose, maybe a 1/4 inch play.
Anyone have this happen to them? Any ideas? Also, when I put itpark i sometimes have to push it extra far to get it to let me take the key out.
Please let me know if any of you have experienced this!
Thanks,
Shaun

Seems to be about the same in my 95. The shifter moves a little bit when I accelerate too.

It does not do this in 1st or second gear...does yours act the same? Have you fixed it?

Honestly I don't know if it does it in any gear other than D. I will check tomorow. I have not fixed it, nor have I tried because it does not seem to be a problem, just a quirk.
