Fuel Tank Compatability

Hi all I am currently fixing a fuel tank issue on my '82 longbed (the truck sat in a field for years, clogged up the lines inside of the truck pretty bad). Was wondering if I would be able to take the lines circled in red from an '87 2WD 22R (Carbureted) model truck, if they're the same and/or they'll match up? Fuel Tank Compatability-q6dvrbs.jpg

Thanks!

If you can get yours out which you need to do just clean them and the tank.

Or just swap the tanks.

The fill necks appear to line up just fabricate a bracket for the other end.

I already pulled the tank off my first gen where I found a lot of rust, etc. I have a kit to re-line it. Just wanted to see if the internals from the tank of the 2nd gen carbureted model could swap out.

It's not my pic, just used it to demonstrate what it could look like before I empty the tank and check off the 2wd.

It seems to me that Toyota changed something on each tank for each truck. As far as hooking it up, it should work. Just like the picture above, there is a difference in length of the tank. I haves seen several tanks and you would think they would all have the same length of fuel pickup assemblies. Each one I have seen has been different. Example a two wheel drive versus a four wheel drive.

The pic the OP used is one I took when I was debating about trying to stuff a 1st gen long bed tank in a 1st gen short bed hole..hence the difference in fuel spouts etc...
