Front Bumpers? Are '84/85 mounts and '86-89 the same?

Will an aftermarket front bumper for an '86-89 Pick-up/4Runner fit onto my '85 Pickup, or did Toyota change the mounting style with IFS?

And if they will not fit, what are the differences between the bumper mounts?

I really want an ARB, TJM, or any other plate winch bumper with the brush guard. (I like the Warns too, but I don't think they make them pre-1990 era).

I am hoping to find a used one on Craigslist or eBay (as the new ones go for about $700+).

The ARB and TJM list different part numbers for 84/85 and the 86-89 on the web sites, but I was curious if they can be easily modified such as drilling different bolt holes or some minor grinding and welding, if I got a good deal on a used one.

Bumper mounts are similar but not identical. Mount hole spacing is different and it all depends on what other mounting points the aftermarket bumper uses. I do know I had a Smitty Built front tube bumper and it would fit both 84/5 and the 86/9 models, but it only used the stock frame bolt holes (4 up front) as the top of the front body mount bolts for attachment.
