FNG question about lifts....

I have a 1998 Toyota 4Runner SR-5 2WD. I am currently running 275/45r20 (about 30" tall tire) tires on 20x8.5 wheels and needless to say the low profile tires ride like dog "stuff". I just installed the Monroe Sense-a-trac shocks. I want to run a taller sidewall tire. I was looking at the Toyo Open Country or Nitto Terra Grappler in 275/60r20 (about 33" tall tire) as I want to keep my wheels. Is anyone else running a similar size? I know I will have to lift the truck, but the tallest lift I have been able to find is a 3" Revtek which consists of spacers for about $350. Are these spacer kits okay? Can any alignment shop do the alignment after installing or does it need to be an offroad specialty shop? I don't do a whole lot of off roading (about 95% of the time on road, may go off road to get to a fishing spot in Galveston every once in a while). With a 3" lift and 33" tall tires, will I have to remove the running boards? I like the offroad look, and I am quite sure a taller sidewall tire will ride better. Opinions please on fitment.
