First real offroading trip...

yes "tow straps" with the hooks are them are very dangerous. i've read a couple threads where people have died due to somthing breaking and the hook flying back and hitting people. get a Recovery Strap with loops in it. NEVER tie recovery straps together, imagine tieing a knot in a rope and then put 20,000 pounds of tension on it, now untie the knot, its not going to happen. the receiver recovery point can be found here. also try at froogle.google.com i bought mine used locally for $25, and its the best 25 bucks i spend on my truck.

I doubt there will too much mud, I mean I am not dumb as far as off-roading goes, but neither am I an expert or even novice. If there is too much mud, we just won't go in it and find some other places to enjoy ourselves.
We will also have all recovery tools just in case something happens, so I think we'll be fine.
Please note the words "just in case" and "I think", so you can't say I told you so if something does indeed happen *knock on wood*.
