Then I could get a great deal on a 2.7 to throw in my Trekker from a fellow YT'er

Okay i would still find out why you recieved that it i were in your shoes..

I would be concerned that they thought the vehicle was totaled and thats all they sent you.
Maybe...........

There is a whole bunch of maybe's assoicated with taht check IMO..
I would like to make damn sure i could cash it before i did so and spent the money.

They repaired the hood? Those things have crumple zones that are designed to....well, crumple. If you fix the hood, how can it crumple again?

Most the body shops we deliver to will not take hoods if the crumple zone is affected. You can take a BFH to it all you want, but you cannot properly repair the crumple zone.

Imagine the crumple zone like this: /\ When it gets pushed in, it becomes this: ||

When you pull it back out, the metal is fatigued. Your pic isn't really clear though, its tough to tell if the crumple zone was affected. Typically, they do not repair that far up the hood if it is not needed.

Don't you have to let the paint cure before you wheel it or wash it?
