Finally Got the Taco Back
#61
wow, I just finished reading this thread, I can only say that "It Happens", but when its like more then two times. Something is not right?
I know when one I was at a teenager age, I learned alot through experiences, surroundings, peers, and own choices.
I remember when I crashed my BroncoII, I just got it lifted and was one night I was driving with out my eyeglasses. I bumped a curve and flipped it, I learned alot of things that night as I was looking straight at a nearly 2000$ list of upgrades to a vehicle.
Damn, I still can't believe it, I put alot of money into that truck. Anyways, after that I took the bus to work and school for a whole year. I mean sometimes I got rides by friends nd family, but i choose to take the bus. I had regain my thoughts that year, and realize that it could have been worse. My parents didnt help me out at all in purchasing a new used jeep wrangler. I worked for every dollar to buy that jeep. I got real upset that they didnt help, but LATER I realized why they did not help out at all. I learned the Value of a DOLLAR, and paid for my own vehicle. Kids now a days think money grows from trees, and dont relly know the meaning of hard work.
I am not saying that Scuba, is like most young blinded youth, but dude you should learn to value your vehicles more. Ya know?, Reading all your threads why you crashed your trucks, probably could of been prevented if you were paying attention. It seems like your gloryifying that fact that you "killed toyota". NO offense, I think yor parents are too soft on ya bub., but your 18. So you should be more responsible, and really realize that if you dont shape up. One day it will be more then just a killed toyota.
When I was 24, one of my good friends lost his lil sis, because a teenager was driving his lil wanna be 2 fast to furious car and ended up losing control. His sis was i the passenger side not wearing a seat belt!
Im not saying your a bad driver, but I think that if you could go without a truck for a couple months. It would be a humbaling experience for you. At least for me it was........

It was an ACCIDENT. I'm sure he wasn't being any more wreckless or stupid than anyone else who drives. You could be the most attention oriented person and be aware of everything going on around and you be the most careful driver ever, but this could still happen to you.
Give him a break, or karma will bite you

wow this sucks.. reminds me of a story young scub...
my familys second runner became mine after my father passed away and my moms wanted to get a small sensible saturn to save gas... cause she thinks the 22res are pigs lol...
so 2 deers end up running into the side of it..so igot a great deal on another 4runner from a guy at work... took it to get etst it passes then a saftey pass,,leaving the garage i back up and cranked the wheel took out my DRIVERS DOOR with a telephone pole and i havent EVEN SHOWN MY INSURANCE MAN YET......now in these big blind boxes we like to call TOYOTA's TOMMY pays extra attention.. even now that im on the passenger side driving...
hope it all works out.. i would just fix it myself from the junkyard...then again i dont like insurance and luckly havent had to deal with them other than me giving them my money hahah

Update and replies.
First with the updates.
I went to the collision shop today, the estimate is 5300
Wish I would have had the camera I would have had a better pic..
They said they are at 80% threshold and it should be about 2.5 weeks for them to finish.
And I think DC would be proud, this is the convo between me and the guy thats handling the repairs..
Him: Do you want after market parts...?
Scoob: Well I perfer Toyota parts..
Him: Again, Do you want aftermarket parts..?
Scoob: No.

Im gonna start by quoting myself from post 20 in this exact thread.
Og, I get what your saying, and in reality I think the whole, Dont know what things are worth this and that is sorta true in my case. This is the nicest thing I have ever owned, and I was really trying to take care of it, And like others are saying, THINGS HAPPEN.
This accident was caused by me SEARCHING FOR THE EMERGENCY SIRENS.
Not by complete carelessness on my part, although I do admit to some unattentiveness, If thats even a word.
Thank you for sharing your advise, After my last wreck I did go 2 months without my own vehicle, Driving around the bruised ugly, beaten and squealing family sienna, and guess what im doing now, driving that same van. I hate driving it, and I feel like its sorta my punishment for these accidents.
NOT TO MENTION.
from 12/07-8/08 my 91 was down due to a blown motor, again, driving the ugly pos sienna.
that was more then enough..
Anyway, Sorry to hear about your bronco, and your friends sister.
Thank you for not hatin.
Im not going to get into a pissing match with you over the internet, Umm, Im sure your remember being young and dumb...Might still be.
That being said.
THANKS FOR KICKING ME WHILE IM DOWN.

Anyway.

I'm crying a mini tear of happiness.
Factory parts fit sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better, and look sooooooooooo much nicer.
I won't ever let a shop use aftermarket parts on my rig, unless its my cheap beater junker commuter car, or it would save a vehicle that I love to death from totaling.
And so far, I don't own one single vehicle that I love to death.

And BOT, Scuba what the hell man? What the jesus? Porque? And that isn't bad at all, the insurance company can go to hell if they want to total that.
EDIT: They won't mind, they're already going to hell anyway.
