Does anyone here use Marvel or Sea Foam

I searched and found a few threads but nothing really explanatory about the use of either. I notice my yota burns a little oil, she's a 95 on the same motor its to be expected. Well when I go to change oil I see a e load of gunk on the inside of my motor.
I read on here of guys using Sea Foam and Marvel in the motor not just the gas. I was wondering if I could get people to weigh in on personal experience and how they use it. It seems like more people prefer Sea Foam just wondering if theyre are any Marvel users.
I don't need a tutorial just details like, before a oil change or after. Also how much should be poored in on top of the oil. Personally I'm due for an oil change anyday. My oil level is low but not bone dry, now seems like it would be a good time to add it being that it won't be weakened by mixed with a full load of oil.

Thank you in advance

I use SEA FOAM and have great results with no bad effects good stuff run it threw your motor to clean the oil passages before changing your oil and run it threw your intake system you will get throttle responce like it was new.

Heard good things about Sea Foam and used it through the intake. Sure it smoked and stunk but I felt no difference in throttle response or power. 2 weeks later I pulled the intake after seeing crud through the throttle body. I was amazed at hom much caked on crud there was.
Maybe it works if you use it constantly and only after actually physically cleaning off the layers of black stuff with carb cleaner and scraping or using a wire brush.
I think a lot of people will disagree with my opinion, but hey, this is just one guy's opinion from experience. There is no miracle chemical that will do that physical scraping can do.

i know a lot of guys from my acura legend days that swore by seafoam treatments. I haven't done it myself, but I can point you in the direction of an acura forum that's full of people who can tell you anything you want to know about it's effects. You could probably find that here though, too.

You did a search and couldn't find anything on Seafoam?

I did a search for "Seafoam" and told it to "search thread titles only".
I got 96 results.

The "Advanced Search" is an awesome tool, see what you can find with that and let us know.

I did a search on sea foam as well as Marvel, I new I was gonna get flamed for posting this. I'm not asking about sea foam as much as I am regarding Marvel which returned not alot of useable info.
Judging by my replies nobody got what I was asking either. Maybe we should deleted this thread and I'll repost as "marvel info" only.

I used to use Seafoam on my S4. I disconnected the intake vacuum hose ( I think that is what it is called) and connected an 8" or so hose to it, and ran it into a can of seafoam. I would then hold that accelerator at about 3k rpm, until about half the can was gone.

Let it sit for about 15 minutes....

Hooked the normal hose back up, and start it up, worked wonders. Years of crap shot out my exhaust.

I've used SeaFoam on my Toyotas, and Marvel in my VWs years ago. Marvel was more of a waste of money than anything else I ever did. Stick with the SeaFoam and smile...

I have used Seafoam with awesome results! I have a 02 4Runner and it has 160k miles on it. I noticed that the idle started to get a little rough so I tried Seafoam. I bought 2 cans and used a little more than 1 can. I put about 1/2 a can through the intake, 1/3 of a can in the oil, and 1/3 of a can in the gas tank. Lots of smoke from cleaning all the gunk out. I ran it for about 300 miles then got the oil changed, which is what they reccommend. Now it idles like new and I can definitely feel a difference in throttle response! I would definitely reccommend it. I would be careful about pouring it into an empty, or close to empty, oil tank. I'm not sure if it could mess anything up because its pretty strong stuff. Also, make sure if you decide to run it through your intake, you know which vaccume hose to run it through before you try it.

seafoam works good, but be careful with it... its powerful stuff.
and u should use marvel after you change the oil, not before. get a qt of marvel mystery oil, put it in, and that substitutes as a qt of oil. it quiets the engine a bit and makes it run better. with me, it quieted the knock of 250,000+ mile old lifters, made it quit burning as much oil, and increased my gas mileage by 4 mpg. marvel is good stuff. as for seafoam, ive never used it. have heard good/bad about it.

I recommend Auto RX. It slowly disolves the sludge into a non-passage-blocking liquid. I dont think twice about using it in any of my vehicles. I personally havent used MMO, so I cant comment.

If you're not currently a member of bobistheoilguy.com, you should be. Thoses guys lives revolve around oil and other automotive fluids.

Also, Auto RX can be used in transmission and in PS racks. Its been known to fix leaks as well as the forementioned sludge factor.

A search on BITOG.com or on google will reveal A LOT more reading about the mentioned products
