Well gang, we had a pre-trial and we've been bound over to court with a date of January 3 2007. Its been 10 months thus far... the truck still isn't repaired because I won't have the money until/if/when we win the lawsuit.... but I did get to say my piece while we we there. Let him feel like a schmuck for taking advantage of those less fortunate! What a crook...

Hope all goes well with this mess. The shop I work at is next door to a Jiffy Lube and I can tell you I would never take a car there. I have seen them take customers cars and pull donuts and do some pretty negligent and irrisponsible things with them. One of the guys actually has a big sticker on the side of his expedition that says "Shady Tree". Good luck

Damsel is SHOPPING!

Hey gang! Sorry I've been gone so long.. well, court went in my favor mostly) and now I'm looking for a re-man, 3.0 3vze.... any ideas? I'm shopping around, got a certified ASE for the work and need to find a god deal on a good engine. I didn't get full repairs so I have to shop wisely... yes, I'll be using the search feature but could use some solid advice... anything to help a lady??

have you thought about a 3.4 swap, might even be cheaper than finding a reman 3.0

No way would it be cheaper, better yes, but not cheaper. Lots more work too. Only do a 3.4 swap if you can do it yourself and you are never going to sell the truck.

ahhh, I've missed you guys... I've got the recommendation of a guy at the dealership, ASE Toyota certified, young family, wife expecting child #2... maybe this is my chnace to "Pay It Forward." and yes, I asked about the 3.4 swap, and it doesn't look like that will happen for me, not this time around... Maybe I could buy one that would give me parts for both my dune crawler and my sunday driver! Now theres a thought!

I think I'm going to go with an Orient Re-man, unless I get some other advice... anybody deal with Oregon Engines? They are sellibng on Ebay, or Rising Sun Engines? Those are my other two options thus far....

I looked @ Oregon too...sounded like a good outfit as well, but figured if I DID have issues, Orient was a much closer drive.....

at long last!

Well guys, at long last my engine has arrived and I think we have a tentative date of St Patty's day for welcoming home my beloved truck Tyke. I did go with Orient Engine but its still sitting in the crate as we speak... next weekend should begin the healing. Hooray! God is good!

Well it's good to hear you'll be up and running soon. It goes to show, that good things happen to those who are patient.
