Clinometer plexiglass

So, I kinda screwed up. I used a SMALL amount of acetone to remove paint off of my clinometer plexi. The PO painted the truck and didnt feel the need to cover the dash or any interior parts. It doesnt really bother me, but the clinometer face did, you couldn't read it at all. But, now its worse. Im not sure if there is anything I can do to repair it. If anyone has an idea, or something they tried that kicked butt, let me know, I want to get this little guy back in the truck quick! Like some sort of plexi repair kit, or chemical that works wonders.

trying to remember from my old truck. Is the lettering on the outside or in?? if its inside then remove it and get 2000 and 1500 grit wet and dry and wet it and rub. Will take a while doing it this way but you can polish plexi just take your time. make sure you get a rubbinh block as well start with the 1500 then move to the 2000. finish it off with headlight cleaner and you should have a clear glass again. take your time. otherwise i just found one on ebay with brown consol for 175.00

already tried with a headlight kit, came with some ungodly smooth sandpaper, didnt even phase it. Dealership doesnt have anything. I dont think im gonna keep it for the price. Thinking possibly about putting some aftermarket gauges in it, but Its already sr5, I have all the gauges i need. What else could I use it for?

Paperweight?

Meguires has plastic polish and cleaner that may work.
I can usually find it at a local Napa,Pep Boys,Autozone,Checker,etc..

For a few bucks it might be worth a try.

You may also try and give it a light coat of clear gloss spray paint.

i know on my brothers phone screen, he used some 3000 grit sand paper wet..... and it took all the scratches out of it.... the sand paper had a little drill attachment with it so he could spin it pretty fast.... but idk if it would help with the hazyness..... just my $.02

Go to TAP plastics and get a sheet of plexiglass, and use the old face at a template to cut a new piece. VIOLA!

And don't use Acetone on plastic. Dummy.

Tried the high speed with high grit, nothing. Im just going to look for an aftermarket that will fit in the housing, kinda a custom look, im not worried as much about looks as functionality. we will see, ill figure something out, thanks for the suggestions guys!!!

ok headlight kits are designed to remove oxidization and very light scratching. Rubbing with wet and dry will not be a 5 minute fix so if you have ADD or ADHD then this isnt for you. This will take time but will bring it back to lcear or very near to it. ADD and ADHD are not a crack at anyone but if you want a 5 minute fix it wont work for you
