Check Engine was on - after 4 tanks of high octane gas off
Can I get some advice please?
2004 4Runner V8 wi 206,000 mi.
Check Engine, VSC TRAC, VSC OFF were all on. Now after 4 tanks of high octane gas they are all off.
Dealership earlier said Cat Converter was bad.
Muffler shop said I needed a new front Cat Converter which also needs a manafold.
Since the lights are all off do you think it will pass emissions?

I took it to an independent mechanic. He said there was a bolt loose on the exhaust that may be causing the Check Engine light to go on. Sure enough it's been a month and the light has stayed off.... Tightening a bolt vs. a $1300 repair for a cat converter and manifold.
