Carpet removal/replacement
I'm assuming carpet replacement is fairly simple and straight forward right?
Well, I got water up to the carpet level yesterday (doh) so the floorboard is pretty much soaked. I'm wondering if I can remove the carpet (cause I can smell the stagnant water) and replace it a little later down the road. What do you guys think?
Also, where can I get new carpet thats the same color as my old carpet?

Hey guys, reviving old thread here for some questions.
Basically, I've been researching a new carpet(s) for the whole car. Am I paying to much if I buy this from rockauto? It seems like a decent deal and I'm having a hard time finding an equivalent set on ebay...
ACC Part # 457991CUTPILEMB With Mass Back for additional moldability, sound deadening, and insulation Color: OE Color - Mist Gray (903)
Flag indicates this part fits vehicles sold in the US Market. It does not indicate where the part was made -- manufacturers produce parts in multiple factories worldwide. Flag indicates this part fits vehicles sold in the Canadian Market. It does not indicate where the part was made -- manufacturers produce parts in multiple factories worldwide. 1PC PASSENGER AREA, BACK PANEL, WHEEL WELLS, TAILGATE AND 2 FOLDDOWNS; 4 DOOR CARPET COMPLETE
* Stocked in outlying warehouse--shipping delayed up to 3 business days
Do you also need Floor Mats?
$380.79
thanks for your advice

i replaced the interior carpet in my '88 4runner... but, only for the passenger area.
so, front and rear seats.
i did not replace the carpet in the cargo area.
unfortunately, i do not recall where i got it!
i did a google search and found a place called stockinteriors.com.
take a look there and compare.
good luck.

To share my findings thus far.
I looked around the net for molded, by the yard, un-molded pre-cut and used OEM for carpet and even Vinyl. I don't like the experience with the noise from those who have installed vinyl, but there is an option that comes with matt backing for sound & heat insulation.
The best deal I found so far is E & C JR Upholstery in Burbank CA. I spoke with him for an estimate. For re-upholstering the front two seats, and all of the carpet (I think 7 pieces?) he asked for $500. That seams like what I would pay in materials alone if the carpet kit is around $250 and the fabric for seats about $150. Not to mention I don't know what to do with the seats. lol.
I told him I think the price is fair, and when I come down I will take a look at the material quality and make a decision.
He seems to have great reviews on Yelp.
I'll keep ya'll posted. If any other ideas, please speak!

Yes, I have definitely looked at this site. The one I would be interested is $290, with the matt backing. So, I think i'm still better off with the upholsterer.
I assume you had to do the cutting for the center console, etc...?
