can i file the diff housing?

i got a 3rd with 4.88 gears but the locker was blown up.
the center pin broke and hit the housing so i cant get it out unless i file it.
i want to put a aussie in it but i dont know if that is filing it too much.

Judging from the massive dent in the carrier, I think you got bigger problems to investigate than just the center pin of the lunchbox locker.

You should be fine filing it down.
I had a pinion gear shoot into my carrier and mangle it up i ground the hell out of it with an angle grinder and a file to get the locker in.

I got that, but if you're just replacing the lunchbox locker, that won't fix the problem. The carrier is one of the weak points in the 8" diff, if I were you, I would be considering a "full" locker, such as a Detroit or ARB.
