Camshaft clamp replacement

So I have a little bit of scoring on one of the caps that clamps my camshaft down, and from what I can read it seems like they are all specific to the Head. Is this true? And if so, could I just try to buff it out maybe with some fine grit sandpaper?

Pictures would be a big help.

As the clearance between the journal and cap keeps the oil where it should be.

If the cap is scored how is the journal .??

If you have any extras and measure that your clearance is within specs .

After people install new Cams all the time

I will take some pictures today, the screwy thing is that the guy who re-build this engine last placed the #1 cap on the #4 journal, so now one will have a scored cap and one a scored journal. I can't find any specs on what clearance should be so I could plastiguage it.
