Buying another truck

I am planning to buy an '81 solid axle 4WD SR5 truck. The timing chain is bad, but I'm willing to invest in fixing it. Everything else is in virtually immaculate condition except for the rusted body. Once/if I get it, would I be able to tow it home with my '93 truck? We're talking 5-9% grade for 30 miles. Trailer and truck, I'm thinking maybe 5000 pounds.

Why don't you use your Tacoma?

I have considered it, and it would be better. It's just that my dad drives it most of the time and we share it, so I don't know whether he'd let me use it or not. He's going to give it to me when he gets a new one, but I call it mine anyway just because I know that I'll eventually own it.

I would think if I was your dad (I could be!) and I knew your circumstances I wouldn't have much issue with letting you use my Tacoma to do the task.
