Sure does, thanks ALOT Bud.

I'll have to re-thread the allen bolt mounting location, they got ruined last time through Tellico. Sorry I didn't fully catch what you were saying on the phone about the 2 spare washers, I never did listen well growing up.

Glad it helps! You really don't need the allen head ones with the new rear mount but I like suspenders and a belt.

I will recap all the orders tonight and email the 4 people that have NOT had their stuff shipped as to their status.

The bad news is that someone has to be the last to get their stuff. The good news is, that the last ones will get "fresh" steel and the slots corrected in theirs so no big washers are necessary. Continuous improvement and lean manufacturing at work.

Thanks again to all!
Bud

This is why I love YT, alot better than getting flamed all the time, yet still funny.

Now if we could only attract more hardcore tech guys.

The skids are on, thank god, I never thought the battle woudl end with these two giants.

Lets just say I'm glad he pressed a whole for the drain plug, I NEVER want to take these thing off EVER AGAIN. The BEEFY aspect leads to one hell of an install. There's a bolt on the pass. side, front most portion of the belly skid, all I've got to say is WTF. You'll understand when you install yours, I'll post up pics a little later.

You'll need the extra time, and find a buddy to give you a hand, it would have been so much easier with someone to operate the jack to push and pull when I needed it. Good luck and post some pics, my computer is being a PIA and won't let the camera load pics up.

I got both my skids this week and they are A LOT heavier than I anticipated. WOW. Look forward to the challenge of installation and adding another 110#'s of weight.

Use a floor jack, AZ Powder Coat told me you were there. I saw the bumper waiting for a coat.

If you floor jack the skids up into place and then put the bolts in, it's not so bad. Get the 3 ton Harbor Freight one and it's fine.

1st gen Skid mounted

Got the skid mounted on my 1st gen 4Runner.

Below is an image of the raw skid with the holes labeled.

A: factory skid holes for threaded factory IFS truss holes
B: Factory holes that go all the way through the front IFS truss. Bolts provided with washers to go all the way through the truss.
C: Holes for bolting to Sonoran Steel IFS truss and BB belly pan
D: Holes that line up with factory threaded holes including the factory skid front mount holes. (I didn't use these, but used the front 12mm bolt holes. see below)

(For Bud) Shows the front mount. Had to grind away a slot in the bumper support brace so the skid could slide up in there. Also put 1/2" flat washers behind the skid to move it forward so the truss holes would line up.

From underneath rear:

Front underneath:

For more pictures of this model of skid, see here.

Now all I need is my Crossmember & belly pan!!

BTW, I think I'll leave the skid intact for now and not cut an oil drain hole. Not sure that I want something for rocks to hang up on. I have the location marked out in the pictures, but haven't cut it.

The crossmember has been cleaned and etched.

It's just a very mild etch to improve paint adhesion. There was a bit of very minor rust on the metal. I wanted to make sure the Rust-Oleum sticks. I'm trying the Rust-Oleum "Professional" "Primer" and "High Performance Enamel". I'm hoping for a few more horsepower. I chose the "Stainless Steel" color. When Bud starts making these from titanium I'll get those.

Why wouldn't you etch before painting?
