This has been BEAT TO ! I want black wheels. But i dont want to run the rockcrawlers that you get at local auto shops. Everyone has them around me. Does Mickey T make some or american racing or someone? A link would be great. Im buying 34x10.5x15 LTBs on wednesday, and i need to find wheels for them. Help would be GREAT! BTW-

american racing has some that are black. they're coated in teflon. don't know how well the teflon works or anything. i haven't talked to anybody who has them.
or you could alwasy just get a wheel that you like a lot and have it powdercoated black.

Doesn't Wheelers have an aluminum wheel that is the 8 hole design or whatever, and it's black? Let me see if I can find what I'm talking about...
Okay, here they are... http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/toyblackalloys.htm They are 16's, but I still think they look sweet.

I made that acronym up myself

Seriously, do a search on "Black OEM" or something similar and you will find a bunch of info.

I'm halfway there, she's going all the way to toledo with her cousin to go shoppping (Its a good 90 minutes each way). Just need decent weather-tho I could probably do without just take them into the garage )no room for the truck) and lay out a big drop cloth...

do you guys have a writeup on painting the alloys? what kind of paint are you using? primer? application method, i really like the way those look, im thinking of painting my "spokes" black and leaving the outer lip bare aluminum. mainly because if i painted that too, the rocks would just scratch it off and make it look like crap.

I used Rustoleum Auto Primer, and Rustoleum paint. I actually didn't use a clearcoat, but it'd probably be better if I did. Application, follow Christian's acronym, and just spray it on there. I just did my front bumper this weekend, and that thing is a royal pain, and I think my painting skills need work. The wheels are a lot easier.

painted mind this weekend. Its probably easier to touch up the lip of the wheel than it is to do a good looking job of masking it, IMHO. Anyhow, whenever I get my computer back (using a "loaner") I will post some pics.
Oh yeah, I followed what Christian (and others) told me. I hit the rims with fiber cup brush on a drill, wiped everything down with Laquer thinner (or Acetone) then spray a couple coats of etching primer. Let dry, follow with a couple of coats of "semi flat" black. I didn't bother with clear coat.
