Awesome Weber price

Didnt know if this was the right forum, but it seemed to fit.

So, I need a new carb, was looking for Aisin, but Weber has always been an option. While searching tonight for my new carb I stubbled upon the website Weber direct. The price for the conversion on their site is wicked. I talked briefly in chat with Elton, he pointed out the same company with an Ebay listing for the same kit, same price, but free shipping through ebay. I think friday I am going to order the carb. I was just wondering if anyone has dealt with company before, if so, feedback is welcome. Im not looking for the anti-weber guys, or even pro-weber guys. I am going to try this out and see how it works for me.

Here is the website for these guys.

And here is the ebay listing

they are a big hit with VW people ... seem to be pretty legit and trustworthy.

Order it through their website, or if you want feedback and paypal protection ... ebay?

cool. I found a book at Half Price about modifying your Toyota truck or car. Its from the late 80's and there is a whole section about Weber carbs. I have a 38, but it goes into some crazy setups.

Sean, I did a little research before I purchased my weber on ebay. The reason I decided to do some research is because after looking on ebay, I was left wondering what the difference is between a Weber (Weber of NorthAmerica) and a Redline Weber. What I found was that supposedly Weber of North America sub contracts their production to inferior made carb produced in south America and Redline is a genuine European made carb. You can read more about it here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyot...item4cec799e53

I just decided to go with the Redline instead...the price difference was only like $30

Don't really know if there's truly a difference between the two but I figured for $20 more(not $30) the Redline was more convincing.

dang. Possibility. Here is an odd one for you, on the carb body it has empi, the vw thing. Also, i hate the two peice adapter, but we got it sealed up nicely. Im in the process of assembling my 22re top end collection. I wish I knew what the engine was a couple months back as i had a whole top end I sold for 100 bucks.

Same on this one. But, I'm removing it. Just got done rebuilding the aisin, its proving to be a pain in the ass, so going back to stock. If anyone wants to buy a near new weber (on the truck for around a week) and a fuel pressure regulator, hose, filter, and a pre-filter 200 bucks plus shipping, the regulator is a mr. gasket .2 to 6 psi regulator, let me know.

What happened with the weber that you're removing it? You rebuilt the Aisin, did you already put it back on your truck? And if so, is it running good? The reason I ask is because I first rebuilt my Aisin before I bought the weber because I didn't want to spend the money for the weber. After I rebuilt the Aisin, it just didn't run the way I expected, the truck would still die out. After I installed the weber the problem was gone.

The aisin would take forever to start in the mornings. That was the issue. Im not talk like 5 minutes to start, it would take around a half hour to get it to run. Turns out, the majority of the diaphragms were leaking fuel, and the power valve was stuck, to name a few more, one of the floats had a small hole, banjo bolt was leaking, high idle linkage was siezed up. The larger butterfly on the bottom (the name escapes me) would not open, was rusted on the underside, cleaned it with some remoil (for guns) using my boresnake, nice and clean, now everything functions smoothly.
