That is an awesome Land Cruiser but how do you find someone who loves these rigs enough to pay $30K? And what bank is going to give you a $30K loan for a 1985 vehicle?

Id say, if you have $30k to spend on that rig, then either you don't need a loan, or YOU tell the bank how to spend your money

I wonder how well that 4-cylinder turbo diesel moves that thing. I've never played around with turbo diesels

Being able to run on vegetable oil is cool and all, but what if you don't have a source for it? After a quick google search it looks like you're looking at $9 a gallon for vegetable oil. You could just get by with that 18 gallon diesel tank though.

Mmm. That thing is gorgeous! I wish I had $30k (with plenty of extra change) to buy it

veggie is pretty available Almost any fast food joint will slap it's old grease on ya and you can prep it to run just like a normal WMO system. Basically 2 drums a pump and water filters. I got a buddy that built a small system in his rig for just the occasion you speak of. Almost any fast food joint will slap it's old grease on ya.

I had a buddy who did this to a jetta and when he came here to visit me in Asheville, NC we found out that a local company has contracts with all of restaurants and uses their oil to make biodiesel. I think he had to sneak behind a mexican restaurant and just siphon off some from their drums. Pretty cool though, he drove from Denver to NC and didn't have to use any gas. He just filled his trunk with those 5 gal oil jugs and would stop at gas stations and pour it in.

And 30k seems a little pricey. Wonder what kind of money he has in the parts?

Gotta want to go green. Maybe the Fed would give a grant based on saving the environment. I have always liked FJ60's.
