Any truth?

So the neighbours 8 year old 'Ram Tough Truck' with 180000KM's broke again and I was over in his garage offering moral support (in brown bottles) and giving him a general ribbing about calling my 04 Tacoma 'Jap Scrap' with just 590,000KM's. He said he was finished with his POS Dodge and was going to get a Toyota...wise choice! Then he says," Toyota will give you a new truck if it gets to 1,000,000KM's, and you'll be able to do that in Alberta cause they don't rust out from road salt"! I never heard about that. Is it true?

It sounds like he had too much moral-support-brown-bottles to me.

Well I moved here 7 months ago and his Rams been towed three times...maybe Appletons Estate or Glenlivet would have been a better choice but who knows what he would of come up with after three of four fingers of it!

Might be a dodge thing? They seem to break a lot. So that would be impressive.

There might be some truth to this, but I would want to get that in writing from Toyota (Canada) directly.

Toyota did give a brand new Tundra to a guy that put over 1,000,000 miles (about 1,609,344 km) on his truck. Toyota wanted to tear down the super high mileage truck and see what held up and what could be made better.

I don't know if this was a one-time deal or not.

Hmm...likely this is what he heard. If it is 1,000,000 miles that would be a hard one to get to. If it is only 1,000,000 kilometers that would be hard too but doable. I see there is some back out language such as original parts, etc., and it also seems this guy had all the service done at a stealership. From direct inquires I've made and contacting dealers both in Southern Ontario and now in Alberta, Toyota Canada is very hard to deal with. Still if they will give you a free truck its worth a shot!
