Here is the 24R-GTE torque curve:

sorry about the bad quality, you'll be able to download it if you wish from my website within a few days.

Red is lb-lbf., and gray is bhp.

as you can see, bhp is very peaky, and torque is flat compared with existing Toyota engines. (in comparison to max. RPM). It peaks around 11,800. Max. RPM will be 12,500.

12,500 eh...

sounds more like a motor for raceing in Akina wit ALOT of tofu than a "truck" motor... would be fun tho

One of the NICE things abotu the stock 22RE and the W56 trans is it appears designed so that when driving int he "hills" as you slow down the peak torque CLIMBS... i.e. you down shift in the hills and run the motor at say 3500 rpm but peak torque is at 3000 so that as you "slow down" the torque climbs - allowing you to maintain speed in the hills.....

In actuality, the engine will make over 100 lb-lbf. by 2000 rpm and over 200 lb-lbf. by 5200 rpm. The curve I posted is not the final version. The torque curve is flatter than that. Power is very peaky, but still more than adequate for a Toyota truck, even below 5000. It's made so you could drive it exactly the same way as you drive your current yota.
