2007 Yotatech Calendar Submissions Closed
Well it's time for the yotatech calender contest once again. Last year went pretty well so it'll be the same format this year. Here's a link to the winners in the last 2 years:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/calendar-winners-45982/
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f123/yotatech-2006-calendar-ready-73604/
Post up the best pictures of your truck, 4runner, FJ Cruiser, Tundra, Tacoma, etc. for a chance to be printed in a 12 month calendar. This is an off road forum so bonus points will be given to trucks that are being used off road. The staff will choose 11 of the best pictures submitted. Keep in mind that this is only the third time we’ve done this kind of thing so not even we know what we want to see. Maybe just nice scenery in the background, maybe airborne, maybe a truck on its side, who knows. We are not professional photographers so keep that in mind if you’re submitting something artistic. The 12th picture…the staff will pick a handful of the best pictures and let you guys vote for your favorite. The reason the staff will be doing most of the picking is because the last time the membership tried to vote on a forum wide thing (bumper stickers) some people’s toes were stepped on.
Guidelines:
1. Post your pictures here. For display in this thread, please reduce the size to 640x480 or smaller. Any pictures larger than this will be deleted. Basically, I don't want to scroll right to see the whole pic.
2. Final pictures must be at least 1600x1200 pixels in size (2 mega pixels). Ideally 3300x2550, 300dpi is best (8 mega pixels). Pictures smaller than this may be considered, however, I’m still testing things out to see how bad smaller pictures print out. So make sure you have high resolution pictures available.
3. BMP, GIF, or JPEG formatted
4. Color set CMYK (if that means anything to you)
5. Landscape orientation only, no portrait.
6. Limit of 5 submissions per person.
7. Deadline for submission: Oct 22, midnight PST, 2006
The final pricing hasn’t been set yet. Hopefully you can order them by December 1st, just in time for Christmas. And yes, the 12 lucky winners still have to pay for their own calendars!

640 x 480 is crazy small, there cannot be that many people out there running a desktop size that would be that small.
I think a 600 x 800 image would be much better in many ways. Larger than that, then yes, it does become difficult to scroll to see the images.

640 x 480 is what all my pictures are... this is just for them to see what youve got... and i think you mean 800x 600... but just follow the rules so your pics dont get deleted.. now

Considering I don't have pics up right now, I'm not going to worry about it.
However, 800 x 600 does give a better picture to judge. Not to mention that one gets a better idea of the "quality" (ie. sharpness, contrast, etc.) with a larger picture. While I understand the oversize pics causing issues, I see no need to post pics as 640 x 480 when 800 x 600 will be nicer to view.

I have a laptop.
As long as I don't have to scroll over I don't care what size it is. If I need to scroll over then it'll be deleted. I deleted one picture in the posts above so the rest seem ok to me despite being over the limit. We'll go with the this for now, but we reserve the right to require 640x480 at any time in the future.
This is an example of 640x480
