2002 4-runner don't want to get ripped off again

Don?t want to get ripped off again!!!!!!!!!!!
2002 4-runner 2WD

I have been a member of Yotatech for about two months and tried to educate my self since I am not mechanically inclined. I have moved from Louisiana to San Diego to start over after my wife left me for her boss. I sold my infinity and realized a dream of owning a 4-runner (2002). I did not think I could love again but I will take my 4-runner over my Ex any day of the week and twice on Sunday. The problem is I did not know enough about SUVs and did not know anyone who I could get a reference from so I went to an ORW in San Diego and I was obviously taken advantage of. MY INTENTIONS: I want to lift my vehicle to put 285/75/16 on my 4-runner, I am really not an off roader, except for some light camping usually with a lady friend if you know what I mean. ORW sold me some daystar spacers (2.5 inch lift) and some new shocks (Bilstien). And charged me $1256.00 with installation. I now know that is way too much but they knew I did not know that much about this kind of stuff. So then my 4-runner leaned toward the driver?s side I took it back then they said I had to spend another $500.00 to fix this, so I thought I would take it to another shop not a franchise type that specialized in 4 wheel vehicles. They looked at my color codes on my front coils and realized that the colors were on the wrong sides so they switched the coils from side to side and my vehicle leveled out, I still don?t know what ORW was going to charge me for as for as fixing my vehicle, but I would beware !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are in So.Cal

My Question is this: I talked to Sonoran Steel and I purchased the 99 coils having said that. If I put them on my 2002 4-runner how much more will I have to lift my 4-runner to put 285/75/16 on Ivan Stewart wheels I already have some 2.5 daystar spacers or do I need the 1.5 spacers instead. I do not know if I need these at all. I would like no more than about 3 inches of lift maybe 3.5 inches of lift. Will I have to cut any metal under my vehicle to avoid rubbing of tires, Upper Control Arms etc. Thanks for your patience I am learning on the fly and appreciate your expertise in this matter. I will be posting pics soon of my cold air intake they put on at ORW as well and it looks to me that something is missing maybe you would know. Thanks again.

do some searching. anything above about 2.5 inches of lift will cause problems unless you go with an expensive, irreversible bracket lift.
Order the right kit from steve, don't try and mod it.
99 coils on an 01 02 will give almost 2 inches of lift because 01 and 02 were lowrider years
