1978 toyota corona?

I was thinking about buying one but I know very little about it. Anyone got any opinions and/or general info about it? Also, useful links would be great as well.
I have this idea that it would be really cool to have a small toyota diesel - not that the corona had a diesel, just a tangent.

this is the Toyota luxury sedan predating the Cressida.

Very good reliability however due to its age finding parts is going to be a tough one.

Never owned one-always wanted one. Sorry no links-you are getting into antique car territory here-buyer beware...

Yea I have seen a few, apparently toyota made a lot of them - they were popular in europe, asia. There is a peruvian corona club - I have a feeling that they are pretty popular as taxis. Since there were so many made I am hoping that replacement part availability is very good, still researching this - I would hate to buy one and have a hard getting parts that's for sure.

parts are near impossible to find, so if you buy it, expect to spend a LOT of money shipping parts from Japan, or from sources throughout the country. They are neat little cars, but they are 31+ years old now, and you can't exactly find new parts at the dealer

I say buy it, and treat it as the classic car it is. Those Coronas are pretty neat.

I'll keep that in mind - thanks for the tip. the one I saw on craigslist has 72000 miles on it, 2400 miles per year since 1978 which seems pretty low. they are asking 2995 but just not sure how to price them.
