Hi Corey,
My name is Anne and I'm with Toyota's national PR agency.
This morning, Toyota released new teaser video for the all-new 2016 Tacoma and I thought your fans would be interested in getting an early glimpse of the toughest Tacoma ever.
We will also be hosting a Livestream Twitter chat from NAIAS in Detroit on Monday and would love to invite your fans to submit their questions.
The chat will be following the press conference on Monday, January 12 from 2:30 to 3:00pm EST on Twitter with #TacomaChat and on Livestream at http://new.livestream.com/Toyota/TacomaChat.
Fans are encouraged to submit their questions on Twitter using #TacomaChat.

My question is this... Why don't they update the "Pickup?" Not everyone wants a truck with power everything and a 96' wheelbase. Some people just want a light truck that's incredibly reliable but has capabilities our work trucks will never have. If they made a "2015 Toyota Pickup SR5 Longbed" that had simplicity on it's side, I would definitely buy one. As it sits right now I just don't see my self ever buying a vehicle that was made after about 2000 simply due to not being able to change a damn fuel filter because it's part of the pump (Malibu) or not having a serviceable cabin air filter (fusion).

Word. I don't believe consumer sales are that low on small trucks. I've been looking for a 1st gen Tacoma and 2000's are about $10k for a 4x4. Ford Rangers are also bringing high prices. Maybe the big fleet buyers don't buy small trucks but there is a consumer market. Look at the popularity of old Toyota pickups overseas. IMO Tacomas and 4Runners started getting too big after 2002 and they continue to grow.

Well, did any members here submit any questions to Toyota, and perhaps about the older style smaller trucks too?
You ad your chance today to talk directly with Toyota and let them know how you feel about the current line of trucks offered.

I absolutely agree with Rowdydudeman. If Toyota would build a compact 4 cylinder truck without all the electronic junk I would buy a new truck. Even though Toyota has more reliable electronics than most I still see problems with them. Ok why do they not use a spin on oil filter any more? Putting the starter under the intake manifold on the Tundra? Unfortunately I see Toyota following GM down the road of stupidity and looking for more ways of trapping us into taking our vehicles to the stealership. I'm sticking to my 86 4x4 as long as I can.
