Year to Year question
Was needing to know what other year models will replace a rear end in a 1989 4x4, ex. cab, 22re truck. A friend of mine is in need and asked me to help him find one. And I have a WTB listed in classified section, but an answer to this question will able me to look in other places. Thanks.

84-85 is too narrow by 3" and has smaller drum brakes. It would be downsizing and NOT a good idea. Stick with 86-95 rear axles but do note that the newer rear axles will have ABS crap on them that you will have to block off/remove.

A good read: http://home.4x4wire.com/erik/diffs/
In there it says 4cly diffs are 27 spline. Not true all 8" diffs are 30 spline.
