1988 pickup 22re
When I turn the key I can see the volt drop but it wont turn over not even a little bit. I can also hear a single click in the passenger side when I turn the key. I don't know if thats normal or not.

I was thinking it could be the starter?

Any thoughts?

 

Hit your starter with a hammer then try to crank it again.

thats a good idea thank you. Ill see if i can get my dad on hammer duty it is really cold outside. I checked all the fuses and they are all good.

The PO installed an alarm system. Is it possile that the alarm is killing power to the ignition? It has a red light on the stearing column that just started blinking.
