I have a 1987 toyota pick up with 22r eng. It will not idle. I first started by rebuilding my carb twice, still wont idle. bought whole new carb and installed and repplaced all vacume lines. still will not idle. if accelerate it runs great has great power thru all the gears. could this be some sort of elect problem? please help!

 

I had the same problem. I rerouted the negative wire from the fuel cutoff solenoid on the carb to the negative terminal on the battery. Mine runs flawlessly now. Not one stall in two tanks of gas!

 

I had a similar problem after i fried some wires off the positive battery terminal. After i rewired the terminal and the wiring to the idle solenoid thingy that got fried as well it worked fine.
