I don't doubt you at all. I never had a bad incident with my BFG A/T KO's either. Though I have driven in wet conditions with tires that perform excellent (Cooper Zeon ZPT and Kumho Ecsta AST), and in comparison the BFG's were lacking in wet conditions (obviously not comparing apples to apples). Maybe I was just spoiled with tires that performed so well in the rain. I haven't had any issues with unintentional loss of traction with my BFG KM2's though.

 

Thanks guys, you've all been a big help. I want a tire that wont be crazy loud on the interstate, but something I can go off roading with and not worry about getting stuck or anything.

What about toyo open country's? I have the mud terrains and most of my driving is city/freeway. They seem to last forever. But my suggestion would defiantly be the all terrains. 100,000 miles on my dads 35's. However, you do pay for that. So i guess it all depends on how many more miles you plan to drive.

 

I have a set of 33x1250x15 goodyear wrangler duratrax I love them. They grip great in the rain and soak up all the little bumps on the road. They also hook up really good in the dirt and are just fine in the mud if you can keep them spinning a little bit. I went to these from my remington mud brutes and before those I had yokohoma geolander at IIs. duratrax are the best all around. i can do the same mud pits i did with my remingtons but they are smoother on the road than my yokos and i only paid 145 per tire!

 

The duratracs are alot more than I want to spend. I dont really want to spend much more that 125 a tire. And anything less than that would be awesome. Thanks for all the input

 

Being that the TreadWrights are retreads, are they still a good tire. That makes me kind of leery...

 

Cooper Discoverer ST for a bamf A/T
And cooper discoverer STT for a good M/T.
Both have pretty excellent tire life.

So they can retread any tire? How much do they cost? On there website is says $100. Maybe I'll think about it when I wear these down....

 

They get tire carcasses from all over. They dont retread YOUR tires, thats the price of a whole tire retreated tire.

 

Haven't seen it mentioned here, but Pep Boy's has some reasonable options. I put a set of 31x10.50 Dakota M/T's on my Tacoma a couple years ago. Those are the Pep Boy's house brand as I understand it. I was very happy with them on and off road, a little noisy but not too bad considering they were M/T's. I think they were $150 each out the door, then Pep Boy's had a promotion of buy 3 get one free. So your final cost (after rebate) is around $450. It is a mail in rebate, I got mine back pretty quick. That means if you factor in the rebate you are looking at about $112.50 each. They also have a Dakota A/T that isn't too bad and costs a little less (personally, for an A/T I'd lean toward the BFG). I saw recently that Pep Boy's was having the same promotion, although I don't know if it is still on.

For what it's worth, not a bad alternative if you are hesitant to go with re-treads.

 

I have some Wrangler Duratrac tires on my 95 yota they have about 75 percent left on them im gettin ready to put a suspension on it so ill be taking them off and probably runnin some nittos or some bfgoodrich tires i havn't decided anyways if you are interested in gettin a set real cheap let me know hopefully you live close by, never know

I used to have bfg a/t 32x11.5 on a stock 87 truck, they lasted FOREVER! they were great on highway, sand, snow. Not so great in the mud. Great tire. After getting stuck a lot in the sloppy stuff I wanted mud tires, purchased 31x10.5 bfg m/t for same truck. Theese will deffinetly pull you through almost anything! The m/t's also lasted a very long time. -- On my current rig 91 runner I have some mis-matched a/t's. They do well in the dirt but not in snow/ice. I want 33's after I mess with my suspension. I like to try new things but BFG's are well worth the money. Never heard of Treadwrights till now, I like the tread patterns. Sorry for my tire rant but tires are almost #1 on the list of how you rig performs.

 

Any opinions on the Bridgestone D694's?

I'm looking for AT's in 33x12.50's
