what kind of damage am i looking at if i run 37s with stock ifs 410s with the 22re?

locked in the rear. and have 9 inches of lift. so plenty of clerance to run them.

is it gonna break anything? how bad of gas mileage?
how bad is my speed gonna be scrwed up?

 

you will be doing 0-60 in like 21 seconds vs 15 stock speedo will be way off, you could break axels

i do 0-60 in about 90 seconds and i only run 33's haha

 

well i got 33s with stock 4.10s on steelies, mods to the engine in my sig. i gotta say that its not fast at all. i timed 0-60 at 19.2 seconds, with a tailwind lol. 37s with 4.10s would probably burn your clutch out real quick, and i think its called the idler bar or something? i guess bigger tires on IFS break that... i dont know. theres a guy on here thats running 37s, and no lift on ifs. maybe hell chime in. oh and im sure your cvs wouldnt like it

 

No, the clutch isn't going to like it and you'll also be adding strain to the entire drivetrain besides that(engine, tranny, transfer case, driveshafts, differentials, axleshafts). And especially all front suspension, front axle(CVs, differential gears, hubs), steering(it's called an Idler Arm, not Bar)and braking components.

What kind of other modification was necessary? I can think of many things that would NOT work without something being done to address them. I can barely squeeze by with my 35's on 3.5" backspaced rims and 5" of lift(3" body lift, 2" suspension).

I'd sure like to see some pics of how he's done that anyway. I bet it took some serious work.

 

well im running a new 22re. bored out. the new head style. rv cam. all new injectors. new clutch. i dont know what wrong with your yotas. but im running 33s with 410s and can get up to 60 in about 10 seconds with a locked rear end. and thats keeping it under 4500 rpms.

shouldnt break anything if i slap a pair on to try it right? do a couple take offs and see how it does off road for a day?

im runnin 35s with a fresh motor and 35s on my DD. its not terribly mad if you ask me, but id like to regear. i dont use 5th gear anymore, 4th gear is perfect fro 65-75MPH. youll prob be usin 3rd as your passing gear. its gonna SUCK pullin out on hills with 4.10s and 37s. youll prob smell your clutch burnin everytime.

i think 87yotabro87 is talkin about a 85 SFA runner with 37s and no lift. type is 37s no lift in the search.

your CVs should be fine on pavement. not liek there gonna snap instantly because on the weight on th e37s. they may be scared to death and fearing for there life, but theyll probably be okay fro DDin

 

Black 1985 : Your engine sounds like it has plenty of power! I can't do that with 30" tires.

 

How does your truck have 9" of lift? Bracket lift, body lift and BJ spacers? How are your CV angles with that much lift.

You will have zero power. What do you use your truck for? Mall crawler, mud, rock crawler? If it's just for looks, I think you can do it. But if you want to play in mud or crawl up a rock, 37s with stock t-case gears and gear ratios just won't cut it.

But to answer your question, your setup will kill steering parts. Idler arms and tie rods. If you wheel your truck hard, you'll have issues with CVs. It'll help if you install a front locker, so that if you lift a tire and the tire in mid air spins then comes down and gets traction, it'll be spinning half as fast with a locker, hopefully saving your CV from snapping in half and possibly cracking your ring gear like I did.

 

x2 on teh 4lo. itll be higher with 37s. mines quite high with 35s

This is possible the guy who bought my old 4runner put a 1inch body lift on and cut the feners. He had 37s on it. If I was going to try what your talking about I would get some gears also.

I say do it. The only way for you to truly know how its going to be is for you to do it your self. Yesh, its gonna suck, drive like Crap, and your prolly gonna break a bunch of stuff, but why not. they makr replacement parts for these every day. So I say do it and they come back and tell the rest of us how it went.

and dunner, i have 35s with no lift on my 92. im sure with a little more tubbing 37s could fit. anything is possible with a grinder and a welder.

you are probably gonna end up with some front fender damage at full lock and a stuffed tire. Know how to replace a front CV axle yet?

The truck in your avatar doesn't look like 9" of lift if that is the truck you are talking about.

with 37's you'll make a slow truck slower and take a lot of life away from your clutch and brakes.
