Question What axels to buy

I am looking to go wider then the stock yota axles but I don't know what my options are. I know I have to do something with my front end soon or I am going to lose it. So a SAS is the way to go. I want to stay with a 6-lug but as much advice as I can get would help.

Oh and happy new year

Looking 6 to 12 inches wider front and rear. Tubing to run 35s to 37s maybe 40s. SAS with 6.5 lift all around

FJ60 axle with wheel spacers will allow you to stick Toyota. Or, you can go FJ80, but the highsteer is stupid expensive.

Or, you can go full width D60s or custom. The world is your oyster.

What is your budget?

For a budget I really don't know what I will be spending. I wanna stay inexpensive as I can but get a good product and end result. It will also need to be able to stand up to a little more horse then the stock 22re (planning a motor swap later). I am also have access to a fab shop style garage, so junk yard finds wouldn't be a bad thing

Going 1 tons is a huge commitment. Typical D60 front is $1000 and then you will need to gear it, lock it, etc.

You'll need to run a fullwidth spring hanger and outboard your shackle hangers. This will be the rule of thumb for anything that isn't a Toyota based axle. You really need to start searching threads for what you want.

The FJ60 axle is wider than the mini truck axle by 4.5". With 1.5" spacers or an IFS Hub swap you would be around 63". Its a 9.5" ring gear too.

FJ-60 axles are 61.5 inches, with a IFS hub swap and 1.5 spacers in the rear I will be a 63 inches. Stock IFS rears are 58 inches which will give me 5 inches wider track, along with keeping the stock 6-lug. Now where do I find Land Cruiser parts

Fj80 has a small front diff (8"). FJ-60 is stronger. Both rears are offset, and going to be a pain to manage drive shaft angles with out retubing.

Neither one is 6-12" wider. Gotta go full width or custom for those numbers.

With your requirements, keeping this "inexpensive" is going to be silly.

Wow weird starting back up an old thread but it's mine so I guess I can do that. Ok here goes I am ordering custom axles 9.5 toyota ring gears LSD. I am at IFS and was wondering if anyone can tell me what the offset is of the front diff. I am going to search right now but I thought I would post here to see about a quick answer

I need the offset so I can run numbers to make my tubes match up when I start the build. Search didn't turn anything up that I was looking for maybe I worded it wrong
