vacuum switch valve info

I have been searching online as well as this site but i cant seem to find the answer im looking for. I am hoping maybe someone can help me out. I have a 1988 4runner DLX with a 22re... tonight while i was replacing vac lines i broke my vsv specifically the plastic tube that the hose connects to leaving one only 1 of the 2 hoses connected and i cant find anywhere to get a replacement. i saw that the part might have been discontinued from what i have read this thing has something to do with the air conditioning which i don't use because it doesn't blow cold but how important is this gadget? can i drive my truck until i can find a replacement? are any other years or models compatible? is it called anything besides vsv/vacuum switch valve? any advice would be wonderful unless its grammar related. thanks!

If it is the A/C VSV, just block off the two lines (from and to) the VSV and it'll be fine. I did the same on my power steering pump valve:

All that valve does is bump up the idle speed when the A/C is running. If you don't use A/C, then it serves no purpose.
