Vacuum and emissions 20r to 22r

Vacuum and emissions 20r to 22r
I have an 83 griffin and have a 20r head and 22r block. I was wondering if anyone could give me info on vaccum and the smog pump. can I run the two together. trying to get it to pass smog.
