I'd get a kit at your local parts store (seal, oil pump gasket), and watch the guy do the job. Take tons of photos to show us what's going on. The seal on the pan could also be bad up front - you really do need to torque in a "star" pattern and not clockwise or counterclockwise - you can warp the pan.
Dude I hope this guy does a good job, I dropped it off there today for him to do the work (only way to keep warranty) I will let you know how it turns out. Also leaking fuel on startup as well now. what else right.

it is possible to damage the front main oil seal while installing it...or not installing it right.

it's possible, however several things come to mind if it's the front crank seal. Was a new oil pump installed? if so chances are it already had the seal on it. Timing cover gasket sets usually come with one as well as a rebuild kit. When I did my rebuild using all EB parts, I had two oil/crankshaft seals left over.

One of the things that come to mind as far as leaking goes did the mechanic use a sleeve-n-seal on the balancer? Chances are when the front end of the motor was redone there was a groove wore into the balancer from the old seal. It will most likely leak if there was no sleeve put on it. Also another thing that can cause the leak at the seal is if the oil pump was not put on perfectly centered.

Also if it's an old oil pump also check the relieve valve copper washer. That has a tendency to leak as well.

Now for the pan gasket, word has it the older ones (pre-85???) still use the gasket, newer (post-85 ????) ones should use just the FIPG (RTV) I wish I knew this when I rebuilt mine. I used both as I always have on SBC's and SBF's. Never had a problem with those. But this is a yota and they don't like some aftermarket stuff put on them. .

Yes. The oil pump was new, so maybe the seal is in there, all I know is the puddle in front of my house is about 4'x3' and formed in 5 minutes. I asked him about a speedy sleeve or whatever they are called for the crank. Thanks for the help guys. nother possibility is he did not put seal packing (FIPG) on the oil pump, cant imagine why not but this guys track record for reliability is against him. I should have it back Friday if promises are kept so I will let you all know what happens when I pick it up. If it leaks, or any parts are missing (they were when I got the motor back), or I have to pay a cent for this im seeking legal help and lighting a fire under his ___.

I didn't use FIPG on my oil pump well just enough to hold the O-ring in place as I seated it, there is a rubber O-ring that should have gotten replaced though. I am not 100% sure though the oil pump needs or does not need FIPG.
