TRD axle swap into 82 pickup

TRD axle swap into 82 pickup

Is it possible to swap the whole rear end trd axle into an 82 pickup? i know the width of it is longer by about 5 inch or so but just wondering because i got a buddy who is welling to get ride of his for 200.

FWIW, If it was MT you stand a good chance of the gears being the same...


AT and forget it!


Look for a color dot on the pinion... Or get the code off the TRD, and the one off yours and make sure they match.

you better get that as a selectable is hands down the best traction, and a Aussy is $150 easy...

Go see inchworm to get the stuff needed to lock it up with.

thanx for the information there.for sure its a MT but would i need to do any fender bending or relocation of brake line?? because the axle is longer.
