Transmisson Issues

Hello everyone. Hope somebody could shed some light on my issue. I have a 1990 4 Runner 2.4L. Automatic. A few weeks ago I drove the truck to work with no issues. After I got home ate dinner, I went to the hardware store. When I left and got to the first intersection the truck wouldn't move. I pushed the truck into a parking lot. I was only able to move in reverse. The following morning I put the truck on a dolly and took it home. I removed the tranny oil pan and noticed the transmission fluid was quite dirty. I replaced the filter and put new fluid and filled it to the necessary level. The Runner has been driving fine since, but I do notice when I hit about 60 mph It revs up to about 3400 rpm, and engages to 4th gear after 4200 rpm. Also yesterday when I wanted to take it for a ride, the A/T temp light came on. I turned the truck off, attempted going into reverse but it wouldn't move. I placed the truck on H4 went into drive and the truck moved. Removed H4 and the truck moves again. What can be causing this. I don't plan to move the truck any longer. (to prevent any damage). The gears do not grind or anything. Any help is greatly appreciated.
