Transmission cooler TOO big?

So about half a year ago I got the Tru-Cool 4454 to avoid the strawberry milkshake, but now I'm certain from reading past posts here and looking at the condition of my transmission fluid that the 4454 isn't enough. Since I read that "the bigger the cooler used the better", I went ahead and bought a B&M 70274, which is rated at 29,200 BTU and measures 11x11x1-1/2. However, when it arrived yesterday, I realized just how massive this thing really is. I was wondering if this cooler might possibly overcool the ATF and hurt instead of help the transmission? The temperatures here in Hawaii never go below 50 degrees and the hottest that I've ever seen here is around 95-100 degrees.

Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated!

You'll be fine. You'd have been fine with the 4454 as well. Get a trans temp gauge if you are concerned about it.

Yeah, the 4454 probably would have been enough for highway driving, but I'd worry too much about the temps when I go offroad, plus most of the roads here aren't flat; lots of hills so the tranny shifts between gears a lot.

I think the way I have my 4454 oriented might have an effect too, since I have the ports facing down. I was gonna remount it and make the ports face toward the side, with the inlet top and outlet on the bottom, but I figured if I'm gonna do that I'd might as well get a bigger cooler.
