Ok Guys, I have an 89 4runner that I have owned for 20+ years. in 2003 I had the transmission rebuilt, due to it losing all forward movement, haha..

I believe the transmission is an A340H? Is this correct?

The transmission is not slipping now, it shifts great, but you have to drive it like a stick shift. if you simply place it in drive, the transmission will not shift it just stays in 1st.

My question is: Do you think this is just a case of needing all new trans solenoids, or some other major issue?

Please let me know your thoughts.
