Towing a 4runner?

Hi all! first post.. neat site!! I have a 2011 4runner.. 4x4 automatic.. can I tow it on a dolly? I read in the owners manual you cant tow 4 down but have not been able to find out f I can tow it on a dolly.. thanks!

Yes but you still need to remove the rear drive shaft .

Like any other vehicle the has a driveshaft to the rear wheels

Wyoming9 is correct, pull the rear driveshaft. be thankful our truck is only a few years old so your road grime shouldn't be too bad

You will be fine with the rear drive shaft out as mentioned. I just seen the other day where some one pulled into a gas station towing a car. The set up was to long that they had to back up and put the dolly fender into the door. Just remember there is no backing of a dolly with a truck on it. There are just to many pivot points and you will not get a straight line backing.

Not only that but since they are not made for being backed it is real easy to bend the tongue so it is impossible to pull till it is replaced .
