too much oil?

Hey I just did my first oil change on my 1990 22re. I followed the manual, and it said to put 3 or 4 liters in and let it run for a minute then check the level and if it was still low put another 1 liter in. So it was still lower so i put another liter in and it was perfect, at the full line. Next day I went out and just before taking off checked the oil, and now it's above full. So it must have registered more as i drove it around, or something. So is it bad to be above the full line? Will that do damage? Should I drain a little out?
Thanks

I always put a little bit more in my 22re. The manual calls for 4.5 quarts with the filter and I always end up using about 4.8 or so. Unless you are multiple quarts over you should be fine. I'm not sure liters coorelates to quarts so maybe you can fill me in on that one.

4.8 quarts equals roughly 4.5 liters.

Ok thanks, good to know. I don't want to wreck it or something. But if it's acceptable to have a little more thats good. I'm pretty sure a quart and a liter are basically the same. Thanks
