i have some rims, it says 15x7. if i wanna run 31 inch tires on it, whats the width that i can go with?? cause i see tires that says 31x10.50r15. will those fit on mine?

10.5 is the overall tire width in inches including the sidewall bulge which might differ from the actual track/tread width. Yes they will fit perfectly.
P.S. You DO NOT want to put a 10.50 tire on a 10 inch wide wheel.

 

He's dead on. I had a set of 31" Dunlops on 10 inch rims that I picked up in a trade (back when I was young and dumb). Thankfully the 22RE/Auto combo couldn't let me go fast enough to get into trouble. I did manage to crack a rim on a dirt road and it wasn't pretty. A little sidewall bulge is good protection. (gotta be a joke in there)

i'm looking at putting a 31x10.5r15 on a 15x6 taco steelie, and was wondering if there were any adverse effects. this will be my dd at 100 miles a day. and this is also a pic request, if anyone has this set-up

 

ian your fine, but you might have to adjust the tire pressure accordingly. When I wanted to run 13.50 tires on an 8" wheel, which is fine BTW, only adverse affect is it might create a little more center tread wear as the tire will want to curve the tread a little. This can be remedied by running a slightly lower tire pressure. In addition to this your steering "might" feel a little squishy as the tire will want to wander a bit more on left to right movement. But it's a truck and you shouldn't be making any fast tight turns with it anyway so........

but a 10.50 tire on a 6" wheel is pretty much the same as running a 12.50 tire on an 8" wheel which is done all the time, including by myself.

 

seems like a 10.5 on a 6" rim is gonna look kind of balloonish...thought taco steel rims were 7" wide....been awhile since I had my '97....

 

i measured using this chart. 6" for the wheels i currently have, and 6" for the taco's

 

my 12.50's on an 8" doesn't look too balloony.
And earlier in my build thread, I had 31 x 10.50's on a 7" wheel as well. Now my spare was a 31 11.50 on a 7" which looked a little odd.

I currently have 33"x10.50x15 BfGoodrich tires on my '85 4runner. Im buying a new set of tires and getting a spare. the wheels I have are solid black, 6 lug, and have 8 circular wholes in the pattern. They are plain, no deadlock. Im having trouble finding a match, was wondering if I could get some suggestions. Also, for this size tire, do I order a 15"x7" when I find the right one.

But they make those in all sorts of sizes (diameters and widths); you're going to have to do something to measure the ones you have and order a matching size. 15x7 and 15x8 will both work with a 33x10.5 (I have had 15x8s with a set of 31x10.5, 33x10.5, and now 33x12.5).
